Mahindra XUV.e9 Interior Reveal Technology for the EV SUV

Mahindra & Mahindra recently previewed the interior design of their upcoming electric SUV, the XUV.e9. As their first dedicated electric vehicle, the XUV.e9 represents Mahindra’s major step into the EV market and shows off some unique and modern styling choices for the interior.

Steering Wheel and Instrument Cluster

The most striking part of the XUV.e9’s cockpit is the futuristic-looking two-spoke steering wheel. This minimalist design gives a sense of more space and provides clearer sight lines to the driver instrument cluster behind the wheel. The steering wheel itself has a thin rim and appears to be equipped with touch controls for various functions.

The fully digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel consists of two main displays. There is a rounded screen directly behind the steering wheel likely showing key driving information like speed. Slightly to the right sits a larger, rectangular screen for additional info and features. The XUV.e9 interior screens allow for flexibility in displaying the various driving and EV data parameters.

Center Console and Gear Selector

The XUV.e9’s center console is dominated by a very large, vertically-oriented touchscreen display estimated to be around 15 inches. This touchscreen handles the infotainment features and likely also displays output from the various cameras around the vehicle. Below the main touchscreen is an arched section housing buttons for core controls along with a unique gear selector interface.

Rather than a traditional shifter lever, the XUV.e9 has what Mahindra calls an interactive cockpit with smart toggle. This selector likely uses toggle motions to adjust driving modes and gears on the digital displays. The overall approach aims to provide a cleaner, contemporary look compared to standard shifters while still giving good control.

Interior Styling and Spaciousness

In terms of interior styling, the XUV.e9 uses a two-tone black and beige color treatment. Blue ambient lighting also runs along parts of the dashboard and doors for a subtle accent. The seating uses perforated leatherette material matching the two-tone style. Overall the look blends classic SUV cues with a smoother, tech-forward personality.

The vehicle is expected to be very spacious thanks to its long 2,750mm wheelbase and flat interior floors afforded by the EV platform. Along with expansive legroom, headroom, and shoulder space, there is likely ample storage space throughout the cabin. Boot space is rumored to around 600 liters with the rear seats up.

Advanced Features and Safety Tech

As Mahindra’s first born EV, the XUV.e9 comes equipped with many high-tech driver assistance and safety features. These include lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, driver monitoring systems, and adaptive cruise control. The ADAS tech will be critical as Mahindra positions itself in the future autonomous-ready vehicle market.

In Summary

Mahindra’s reveal of the XUV.e9 interior showcases their ambitions in the EV space. The minimalist steering wheel, large center touchscreens, and unique gear selector present a clean, contemporary look. Two-tone seating, ambient lighting, and expansive space also make the XUV.e9 cabin feel modern while not abandoning classic SUV elements. Packed with the latest comfort, safety and tech features, the total package shows Mahindra is serious about targeting next-gen electric vehicle customers.

What is the price of Mahindra EV in 2024?

In general, pricing specifics for models launching in future years are rarely shared by automakers this far in advance. There are also many variables that can impact the retail cost for new vehicles over the next couple years.

Launch: The all-electric Mahindra XUV700 is expected to go on sale in India by December 2024. Price: Mahindra could price it from Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Platform: The Mahindra XUV. e8 is based on the INGLO modular platform.

That said, we could reasonably expect Mahindra’s electric SUVs hitting the market in 2024 to be price competitive with other mainstream EV offerings. As they aim for larger volume sales, their pricing may target parity with fossil fuel-powered counterparts in the mass market midsize SUV segment. Specific MSRPs though are difficult to predict accurately without more concrete details from Mahindra on their pricing strategy.

As more information is made available on battery specifications, production costs, and go-to-market pricing decisions, more precise Mahindra EV pricing estimates for 2024 could become feasible. But for now there are simply too many open variables to assign dollar values confidently. I’d be happy to revisit estimating a price if and when additional pricing-relevant details emerge! Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

What is the price of Mahindra EV 7 seater?

Mahindra has not announced pricing details for a 7-seater electric vehicle model yet. As they work to expand their EV lineup, an electric 7-seater model could certainly make sense at some point given the popularity of that configuration for larger families. But as of now, there is no information on the pricing or even confirmation that Mahindra will launch a 7-seater EV.

Some insights we do have on possible pricing:

  • Their upcoming XUV.e8 SUV will start around Rs 15 lakh – Rs 18 lakh according to early estimates. This could give a ballpark for larger electric SUVs they may introduce.
  • In general, 7-seater variants often come at a premium over 5-seater versions for traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. We could expect a similar difference for electric models.
  • Factors like battery pack size, driving range, and performance levels could also push pricing higher for a potential 3-row, 7-passenger electric Mahindra.

Unfortunately without an official announcement of such a model, it’s very difficult to speculate confidently on pricing. Once Mahindra formally confirms future electric 7-seater SUVs, we’ll likely get clarity on estimated cost as well. I’d be happy to provide an updated pricing estimate at that time! Please let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

What is the seating capacity of XUV e9?

Based on the information available so far, the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e9 electric SUV is expected to have a seating capacity of 5 passengers.

No official details have been revealed yet regarding potential variants with higher seating capacity. However, since SUVs are often offered with 5-seater and 7-seater options, there is a possibility that Mahindra could offer the XUV.e9 with 7 seats as well.

Given that the XUV.e9 will be Mahindra’s first born electric SUV and positioned as a futuristic and premium offering, it is reasonable to assume it will launch first as a 5 seater. This allows for a spacious and comfortable cabin for passengers.

As Mahindra evaluates demand and expands the XUV.e9 lineup, a 7-seat variant could certainly follow at a later stage. This is a popular configuration option with Indian families especially in more premium SUV segments.

So in summary – the seating specifics revealed so far is:

XUV.e9 – 5 seater With potential for: XUV.e9 – 7 seater (Not officially confirmed yet)

I will update you if Mahindra provides any new information on seating capacity options for the upcoming electric XUV.e9 SUV. Let me know if you need any clarification or have additional questions!

Which is the most powerful XUV?

Based on the specifications released so far, the most powerful Mahindra XUV model is expected to be the upcoming XUV700 sport variant.

Key details:

  • Mahindra has announced that a sport variant of the XUV700 is under development and will be launched in late 2023.
  • This performance-oriented version will use a tuned version of the existing 2.0L turbo petrol engine, but power output is expected to be increased from 200hp to around 230hp.
  • Torque figures have not been confirmed, but a rating of 350-370Nm is anticipated.
  • These power gains could potentially make the XUV700 sport variant the highest horsepower Mahindra SUV produced so far.

While full details are still to be revealed, the XUV700 sport is being positioned as a more exciting and powerful derivative of Mahindra’s popular new SUV. So it should ultimately take the title of the “most powerful XUV” from the manufacturer.

Of course, this could change if an even higher performance XUV variant is launched in the future or with introduction of new electric XUV models. But based on what Mahindra has announced till now, the upcoming XUV700 sport appears set to be the top performer in the range.

Let me know if you need any other details on the current or upcoming high power Mahindra XUV models!

Is XUV a family car?

Yes, the Mahindra XUV line-up is well suited as a family car for the following reasons:

  1. Spacious and comfortable interiors. Most XUV models have decent space for 3-4 adults and even higher variants like XUV700 flagship owners’ pack with captain seats offer good 2nd row space for an Indian car.
  2. Good boot space for luggage and strollers etc especially with 3rd row seats folded down. The XUV has been a popular 7-seater model and by design aims for family utility and versatility.
  3. Mahindra’s new infotainment and seating features are tailored for family travel. Available 2nd row entertainment units, integrated shades, and features like auto booster headrests make for a family friendly environment.
  4. The XUV has been designed to be a durable, value packed SUV with high safety standards which should provide peace of mind to parents. Basic models still have ABS, EBD and airbags for essential safety needs.
  5. Options for both petrol and diesel engines, with the availability of expanded petrol range in recent models giving families the ability to explore budget and/or fuel efficient options.

Overall, the Mahindra XUVs can handle the needs of Indian families very well based on their spaciousness, practical and comfort features, safety ratings and powerful yet economical engine choices. So yes, Mahindra’s XUV series does make for very capable family cars for a range of budgets.
